About Me

Hello! Iā€™m Rebecca, a textile artist, teacher, and disability activist living near Chicago. A self-proclaimed nerd, I love diving into topics and inviting others to join the fun. Since being diagnosed with a degenerative muscle disease in 2010, garment making and quilting have been sources of comfort, self-accommodation, and creative expression.

My experiences with disability and neurodivergence inform everything I do. I believe in meeting people where they are - without judgment. I advocate for inclusion in crafting spaces on social media, talk with groups about ableism in their spaces, and write for national crafting magazines about the intersection of disability and creativity.
